Many people contact CSAC to say that they want to help us, but they cannot take a dog (or another dog or dogs) into their homes -- especially those with special needs. We now have a wonderful alternative to help our Wigglebutts in Need. You can sponsor a chosen dog's care or even virtually adopt one. This is a terrific way to ensure that these precious furballs get the care they require, and enable CSAC to continue our lifesaving work. Our aim is for each Wigglebutt in Need (WIN) to become a true WIN(ner)!

The Wigglebutts featured here desperately need sponsors. CSAC urgently needs donations to help pay for their ongoing care. Your contribution will be used for any dog(s) you choose. Please look at these precious faces, click on their pictures to read their stories, and find out why they are WIN dogs. You will become part of something very special.

 Anna

Little Anna came to us with the cornea of her right eye completely clouded white from a cataract that was not treated. Her foster family took her to an eye specialist to find out if anything could be done for that eye. Unfortunately, he told them that not only was there nothing he could do for the right eye, but she had a cataract in her left eye. If that was allowed to go untreated, she would end up completely blind.

Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center paid $1,500 for the cataract surgery just before Christmas. Anna seemed to be fine, and was her cute little sassy self for several weeks until her foster family noticed she was walking into furniture--she could not see! When they took her to the eye specialist, he reported that they eye had become infected following surgery and her retina had detached. He prescribed a vigorous regimine of eye drops and antibiotics in the hope of curing the infection and helping the retina reattach. Unfortunately, the drops and antibiotics did not work, and Anna is blind.

Her one chance to see is retinal attachment surgery, to be performed by a specialist in Chesapeake, VA. This surgery will cost about $2,700, thanks to a discount from the surgeon because she is a rescue dog). We cannot accept that a sweet young dog be blind for the remainder of her life if there is a possibility of her being able to see. We are going to schedule the surgery as soon as we can, but we need help covering the bill.

Please, won't you give Anna the chance to see? She is a delightful, brave little dog who loves to run around and get belly rubs. Help give her the gift of sight! We will provide updates on how she does following the surgery. THANK YOU!
